Upcoming support in CRM for Microsoft Edge, Windows 10, and Office 2016

With the release of Windows 10, Microsoft has offered to upgrade consumer-licensed desktops automatically from Windows 7 and Windows 8, and many of you have taken us up on that offer. Shipping with Windows 10 there is a new browser, Microsoft Edge (more info). Microsoft Edge introduces some great new features and lets go of some older capabilities of Internet Explorer, which will require updates to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

What this means to your CRM
The Dynamics CRM team has been working closely with the Microsoft Edge team to make sure that Dynamics CRM works properly with Microsoft Edge. This relationship has driven some changes in Microsoft Edge, but also requires CRM to make updates to support the new browser.

They  introduced the first wave of these updates in CRM Online, 2015 Update 1 (7.1.0), and the team is fast approaching providing full support for current versions of CRM Online. They have posted a blog article that covers the plans for full support of Windows 10, Microsoft Edge and Office 2016 in each version of Dynamics CRM and CRM Online, and they keep updating that blog post until they have provided full support for Windows 10, Microsoft Edge, and Office 2016.

Team is  planning to introduce support for Windows 10, Microsoft Edge, and Office 2016 in the following releases:
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Update Rollup 4 for Service Pack 1 (6.1.4)
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Update 0.2 (7.0.2)
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, 2015 Update 1.1 (7.1.1)
Please refer to the blog post for more details.
